Event Description :	Literary Events & WOW Factor(y) Mini Workshops Opening Date: January 21, 2007 Operating Hours: 1 to 4pm Event Description: The WOW workshops are from 1 to 4 pm and are on a drop-in basis. A small fee will be charged to cover the cost of teaching and materials; however, there is no registration required. The workshops will illustrate an unusual project or technique and no experience is necessary. They are called WOW workshops because they will hopefully answer the question: "WOW! How did they do that?" The first "Third Sunday" workshop, presented by studio artist Elaine Harju, will feature painted paper jewelry. Students will create a piece of hand-crafted jewelry to take home with them. Fee for the Jan. 21 workshop is $10 or $8 for Berrien Artist Guild members. Poetry readings by Laura Van Prooyen and Kathleen McGookey will begin at 2 pm, followed by signings of their books. They are both providing copies of their books as door prizes. Tune into WNIT (public television-South Bend) on Thursday, January 18 at 8:00 p.m. to watch interviews with Laura and Kathleen. The poetry readings are free and open to the public.
